Documents needed for the following services regarding Registration of Vehicles .

1- Registering a new vehicle:

• LR1 form
• Roadworthiness Test Report (Original)
• Customs A-form
• If imported under third parties name, letter from third party indicating their approval
• Copy of L10 (issued by ministry only for four wheeled vehicles)
• Copy of garage registration (if it is a four wheeled vehicle and is to be driven in Male')
• Garage owner's approval (If it is four wheeled vehicle and is to be driven in Male')
• Roadworthiness fee (according to the table in LR1 form)
• Annual fee (According to the table in LR1 form)
• Registration fee and Revenue stamp. (According to the table in LR1 form)

2-Change of ownership

• LR1 Form
• A1 form "Gaanoonee form" (Available from bookshops n Ministry for MRF.1.00, complete from the courts and forward to the ministry)
• Previous owners original ID
• ID copy of both parties.
• Roadworthiness Test Report (if needed)
• Registration and yearly payment slip
• Copy of Garage registration (If it is a four wheeled vehicle and is to be driven in Male') / 4 Months parking sticker
• Garage owner's approval (If it is a four wheeled vehicle and is to be driven in Male')
• Registration Fee and revenue stamp (According to the table in LR1 form)

3-Cancel registration

• 1-A1 form (Gaanoonee form)
• 2-Registration and yearly payment slip ( the registration can only be cancelled after payment of yearly fee has been made until the month in which the request fro cancellation has been made)
• 3-Registration cancellation fee MRF. 10.00

4-Renewal of Registration

• LR1 form
• Registry and yearly payment slip
• Roadworthiness Test Report (original)
• Proof of canceled registration (if registration was cancelled due to overdue yearly payments, than the fine has to be paid and the slip forwarded with the application)
• Copy of garage registration ( if it is a four wheeled vehicle and is to be driven in Male')/ 4 Months parking sticker.
• Garage owner's approval (if it is a four wheeled vehicle and is to be driven in male')
• Fee (According to the table in LR1 form)

5-Zone Change

• LR form
• Registry (original)
• Yearly payment slip
• Copy of garage registration (if it is four wheeled vehicle and is to be changing to A zone)
• Registration fee (According to the table in LR1 form)
• Revenue stamp (According to the table in LR1 form)

6-Extension of Roadworthiness

• LR1 form

• Registry (copy) 

7-Registration of new Domain

8-Domain ownership change
